History of Creighton's Town & Country

How We Began

The history of Creighton's Town & Country is truly a story of the entrepreneurial spirit, mixed in with a little luck and the good fortune of dealing with good people.

Garland and Leslie both graduated from Elida High School in 1987 and then attended ENMU where Leslie earned her Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Business Administration and Garland lived his passion of caring for cattle. They we’re married in 1990 and both had careers in Agriculture when the opportunity to start their own business came in 1996. In 1997 they opened Creighton Commodity Corp. in Elida, NM after purchasing a grain elevator and warehouse from a company facing bankruptcy. After only two years in business, in 1999 they expanded into the Portales market, joining forces with Jim & LaVern Russell to form R/C Feed & Supply. Retirement for the Russell’s came in 2003 and that year Creighton’s Town & Country began. Over the years the business has evolved from a simple country feed store to a full service operation for farmers and ranchers providing feed, supplies and equipment for every part of their livestock operations. Garland & Leslie have continued to diversify the business offering a unique selection of apparel, footwear, accessories and home items with the help of qualified, loyal employees who strive to ensure that our customers receive top notch service.
